Versatile end table
Took a little more time than expected to assemble, mainly because the pictures were a little tough to interpret. Once you understand that the crosspieces that have the counter sink have to be assembled in one way, it was easy. Its a sturdy piece once its put together. The top has a black wood finish & the legs are silver, making it an easy piece to fit into most decorating schemes. Sturdy, but lightweight it is easy to move around, if you need to. It looks well holding a lamp or beverages, measuring about 12"x14" it could hold a small tv or beverage machine too. Its compact design would also be good for a dorm room or any place where space is an issue. No sharp corners & came with screw in bumpers so it doesn't scratch the floors.Coquette
Compact and cute
The mainstays end table is a space saving design with a metal frame. The top is black wood that is screwed into the metal frame. The table is not very tall, and can only hold up to 50 pounds.
It was easy to put together even though the instructions were not the clearest. I currently have the table between two chairs, and I am going to use it for setting drinks on, or other small items.DR4881
great bedside table
This table is surprisingly well constructed for something you put together out of the box. I have never seen a DIY piece of furniture that is this steady and solid, actually. It feels like one that was bought prebuilt from a furniture store. The design is very minimalist and it blends into the background very well. I have all dark wood furniture but chose the black and light colored wood design, and it really doesn't seem to have made much of a difference in the room's overall decor, because the table is barely noticeable. I like the subtlety of it.
I got this to use as a bedside table, and am quite happy with it. The bottom rungs actually allow for an extra shelf to be added - which I will definitely need, lol. Right now I'm just placing items on the floor below it, inside the rungs, which is kind of silly looking, but it works until I can cut a piece of plywood to make a shelf down there. :) This is probably better suited as an end table by default, but one of the things I really like about this piece is that it's minimal and simple enough to be added on to easily if you want to turn it into something else and/or add to it.
The top of the table is some form of hard resin, not real wood. However, you can't really tell the difference unless you touch it. The wood design is printed on to the resin, and it can easily be painted over. The rest of the table is some form of hard metal, probably steel, with no rough edges, and appears to be dipped in a thick coating of anti-corrosive, flat black paint. The bottom has soft rubber feet to help keep the table in place on hardwood and protect flooring from being scratched.
Overall, it's a really well-made, basic table. Not very decorative, but great for DIY projects if you want to spruce it up, or being discreet.roller5k4te
