I bought this for my 2 year olds bed room. I was kind of worried after ordering it being as though I found my self reading all of the BAD reviews AFTER I purchased it but I am definitely glad I bought it! I am so happy with the way his room turned out and every one seems to love the way it! I definitely would recommend the south shore product line for any room.BorItaliana
We bought this dresser for our 15 year olds bedroom and for the price we weren't really sure.. Boy were we wrong.. This was super easy to assemble and it I think it took us about 45 minutes total. She's extremely happy with it and the way it looks. I highly recommend this product.Guess6968
Should have stuck with my plastic drawer cart...
I purchased this dresser roughly around 2 years ago, when I graduated college. I didn't have much money, but I wanted to get actual furniture and get rid of my plastic containers/drawer carts.
After looking at reviews, I decided to get this dresser and the soho double 6 drawer dresser (http://www.walmart.com/ip/South-Shore-SoHo-Double-6-Drawer-Dresser-Black/12557616).
While I thought I got a steal, this dresser eventually broke on me! I also found out that two of my co-workers bought the same one and had the same issues after a year. The issue seems to be the plastic slides on the side of the dresser... after a while it wears out and it no longer aligns. When it broke/misaligned, I had to take out each drawer one by one, when I needed items, such as a shirt or socks... SUPER FRUSTRATING.
I thought this was a manufacturer/brand issue, but my other 6 drawer horizontal dresser works well...no issues + the other one has more clothes in the drawers. Therefore, I believe it is this specific dresser with the issue.
Based on my experience and the experience of 2 of my other co-workers, if you are looking for a short-term dresser, one that will hold you out until you have money, then go for this. However, if you are looking for something that will give you at least 5 years of use, I would not recommend this product.
Luckily, I was able to save money and now I can afford a better dresser, but I wish I would not have wasted my money on this... should have just stuck with my $15 plastic containers...they never gave issues and I used them for 4 years with the same amount of clothes!CheapSh0pp3r
Decent for the Price, Tricky to Assemble
For the price, the item is not bad. It is holding up well with drawers full of clothes and a 42in TV sitting on top. The product arrived without any nics or scratches, and I am enjoying the sleek design. The instructions only came with photos, and it took me about two hours to assemble. It may take less for others, but I am a verbal person and I found several photos difficult to follow.BrittneyMR
Dresser was fairly easy to assemble, however as others have stated I should have known the price was too good to be true.
I brought it for my 5 year old, as you can imagine 5 year olds clothes are not very heavy, nonetheless after a month the dresser began to fall apart.
